Charmayne comes from a career combined of two industries:  legal and accounting.  She has over 20 years’ experience in the legal field, and is a Certified Professional Legal Secretary.  In the years she spent working as a legal secretary/legal assistant, she was actively involved in the National Association of Legal Secretaries and served in various capacities at its state and local levels.   She is a Past President of the Harrison-Hancock Counties Legal Secretaries Association (now known as the Gulf Coast Association of Legal Professionals), as well as a former Legal Secretary of the Year for that organization. 


Charmayne attended the Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she completed studies in general business.  She obtained her accounting degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  During her academic years, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and was the recipient of awards for Outstanding Senior and Outstanding Accounting Student.  Prior to joining Purvis & Co. in 2016, she worked as a tax auditor for the Mississippi Department of Revenue. Our firm relies on her auditing skills in the creation and implementation of internal controls and processes and ensuring that we maintain compliance with governing laws, rules and guidelines.


Charmayne is a life-long resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  She enjoys many outdoor activities but her favorites are tennis, golf, gardening, visiting beaches (at home and abroad), and hosting & attending cook-outs with family and friends. 


Charmayne’s main focus is to ensure that the firm’s financial goals are achieved so that the attorneys and staff can be provided with any and all resources necessary to better serve our clients.  She strives to maintain efficient operations in an effort to save our clients time and money.
